Where is the DP? Ruto Sidelined in Cabinet Meeting.

If you think that the feud between President Uhuru and his Deputy is about to end, you might have to wait. The Cabinet Meeting at Taita Taveta tells it all: the fallout between them is great. Upon arrival, the President received official welcoming from Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i as the DP watched from a distance. Traditionally, the Deputy President does the welcoming.

A few hours after the President’s arrival, The Statehouse official social media accounts released photographs showing how the meeting was proceeding. Interestingly, the Deputy President is missing in all the meeting photographs released. Chances have it that Ruto was sidelined in this meeting.

In this cabinet meeting, the President and the cabinet may be giving the way forward for the BBI report. However, the Deputy President had vowed to oppose the report for suggesting addition of the seat of the Prime Minister.

Smelling Seclusion Feud

Tangatanga allies have condemned the sidelining, noting that the deputy President is not receiving recognition that is duly his. Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen took to his tweeter to express his disappointment.

The Deputy President Fred Matiangi receiving the President thereafter introduce other Cabinet members. Those of us who didn’t witness the last days of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta ‘will see things’ in the next 22 months~Kipchumba Murkomen.

Murkomen complained against President Uhuru sidelining his deputy in a way similar to how his father the late Kenyatta did to Oginga Odinga. The feud between the later led to a similar fallout which, as they say, led to a series of betrayals in Kenyan politics.

Previously, the president had ‘promised’ to end all his differences with everyone. This happened in a joint inter-religion prayer session at the statehouse. He said that he had forgiven everyone who had wronged him, and asked for forgiveness from anyone he had hurt. However, he seems to have excluded the DP from the list of those he’d forgive.
