How to manage and reduce both stress and anxiety

Stress is an inescapable part of our day to day life. Mostly referred to as the body’s reaction to changes that require adjustment both physically, emotionally, and majorly mentally. People experience a different form of stress depending on the different circumstances that may cause it. It may range from lack of money, loss of loved ones, relationship issues, business not performing as expected, late payments, and many more. Besides, stress can also be due to anxiety and fear over expected results mostly tests. How you deal with and manage your stress really determines the impact it will have on your health. Having stress can negatively affect your health. It may lead to headache, insomnia, appetite changes, and acne the most common one.

Sometimes stress can be positive. This is only when it is short-lived. Stress can be managed in different ways. They include:
Doing Exercise-This is more applicable when managing mental stress. A person who does exercises has fewer chances of having than the one who experiences stress. This is because exercising improves sleep, stresses body hormones, and also promotes one’s confidence.
• Reduce caffeine intake-since caffeine is a stimulant, a high intake of it increases anxiety. Having a low intake is way better.
• Chew some Gum-Chewing gum facilitates the flow of blood in the brain hence low chances of having stress. At some level, it also prevents one from being so idle.

Spend more time with family and friends– especially if you feel that things are not right with you, stay close to people with who you can joke, laugh and talk to. This also prevents one from overthinking.
Listen to some soft music– smooth and soothing music slows down blood pressure and also lowers anxiety.
Learn to say “NO” to unnecessary things-this will prevent one from regretting doing something. Being self-assertive will make me feel free from unnecessary pressure.
Light a scented candle-mostly common to ladies.it helps to reduce stress and anxiety because of its pleasing smell.
