A Kenyan Plane Crashes in Aden Adde Airport, Mogadishu

A Kenyan cargo  plane belonging to Silverstone Air has crushed at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu, Somalia. The plane appears to have skidded off the runway and hit an concrete perimeter wall. Luckily, all members  on board survived. However, all members on board sustained injuries. This is now the fourth plane to have had an incidence in Somalia this year. As this Kenyan plane crashes, it may strain relationship between Kenya and Somalia.

The plane, a Silverstone Air Fokker 50 (5Y-MHT, built 1989) was on the runway taking off to Beledweyne, Somalia. However, unconfirmed sources reveal that on the runway, the plane met some obstruction. In effort to avoid hitting the obstacle, the plane veered off the runway and crashed on the perimeter wall. The pilot managed to maneuver and everybody aboard survived.

Four Injured

The four crew members sustained slight injuries during the crash. They are all now recuperating. However, the plane received significant damaged. Currently, the airport operatives are assessing the scene and launching investigations.  As more information emerge, we shall be keen to let you know.
