KPL: Banadari FC To Play Several Friendly Matches Ahead of League Return

Bandari FC have lined up around 10 friendly matches as part of their pre-season preparations although they will have to wait for Government clearance for football resumption, head coach Ken Odhiambo has said.

The Sports CS Amina Mohamed said last Friday the suspension on all football competitions would stand, only clearing the way for teams to begin non-contact training.

Bandari will play their matches within the Coast region as well as upcountry and will only go outside the country if they are assured of a CAF Confederation ticket.

“Nine matches are on our plans but we need to know the timeline as to when the league starts before we conclude,” said the former City Stars tactician.

He added, “If we are given the CAF Confederation ticket then we will look for international friendlies but for now only within Kenya”.

The Mombasa based side has not signed any player in the on-going transfer window despite releasing six players.

Odhiambo earlier stated that he will not sign until they are fully back to training and know which areas need enforcement.

“We are not in a hurry to sign, we need to see the players fitness once back in the field before we embark on it”.

Those released include bully striker Wycliife Ochomo, utility Moses Mudavadi, midfielder Cliff Kasuti, and goalkeeper Mustapha Oduor. Also released are Patrick Mugendi and Alex Luganji.

The Dockers also broke ties with their second assistant coach Ibrahim Shikanda as they trimmed down their squad.

The players are all in Mombasa pursuing personal training as of now awaiting the government directive to go back to the pitch.
