Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi Extends Ramadan Support to Over 3,000 Families in Nairobi

On Friday and Saturday, families from across Nairobi benefited from assorted food items, courtesy of Hon. Tim Wanyonyi, who has a longstanding tradition of supporting the less fortunate.

The food distribution initiative aimed to alleviate the burden of struggling households during this sacred period of fasting and prayer.

Each family received essential food supplies, including 2kg of sugar, 4kg of wheat flour, 4kg of maize flour, 2kg of rice, dates, 2kg of tea leaves, 1kg of green grams, 1L of cooking oil, 2kg of beans, and salt.

The distribution was officially launched at the Westlands Mosque, where Hon. Wanyonyi underscored the importance of faith, unity, and community support during Ramadan.

“This is a period of prayers and fasting, and as you approach the conclusion of Ramadan, as Catholic Christians, we are also carrying on with our prayers and fasting, which will conclude in a few weeks’ time. Our country has benefited immensely from these prayers, and I urge you to continue praying so that our nation remains stable and united,” he stated.

Wanyonyi also emphasized the importance of nurturing and guiding the youth, particularly the younger generation, to ensure a brighter future for the country.

“Let us also pray for our children—the youth, the so-called Gen Z—who are angry. What is making them angry is what is happening around them that they do not like. We need to groom them to take over from us when we exit. At the moment, let us put them in a good position by educating them and instilling in them the values of life. Many of them are in a rush, but we must teach them the right values to enable them to live well with others,” he said.

Expressing his motivation for the food donation, Wanyonyi shared, “I opted to bring you this small gift so that after breaking your fast, your families can have something good to eat and enjoy together. It is a small token, but one that comes from the heart.”

He further urged the Imams to continue praying for the nation and families, reinforcing the need for peace and love among communities.

“To the Imams, please pray for our country and also for our families so that we can continue living together in peace and in God’s love. Thank you, and may God bless you all,” he concluded.

The initiative was well received by the community, with beneficiaries expressing gratitude for the MP’s unwavering support. Many noted that his continued generosity and commitment have strengthened bonds and fostered a spirit of compassion and solidarity during Ramadan.
