Angry Kenyans React to NMS after Pumwani Incident

Angry Kenyans have reacted to Nairobi Metropolitan Services. NMS, which is chaired by Major General Mohammed Badi has now earned a public reproach. This has recently been fueled by an incident in which a woman delivered at Pumwani Hospital main gate on 20th September,2020. The guards denied her entry to the facility, due to a nurse go-slow that was taking place. This led to an unfortunate situation as the lady went into labor pains immediately.

Fortunately, the lady was able to deliver successfully. A passer-by, Christine Gaki helped her through. However, the hospital management claims that one of its nurses went to her rescue. Witnesses  on the incident have however disqualified this.

Following this incident, Kenyans have taken to social media to show their dissatisfaction in service delivery. They now want Badi to hand over  power to Governor Sonko.

In Defense

NMS has come out to defend itself from this unfortunate occurrence. In a circular addressing the  press, NMS has claimed that the guards faulted by denying the lady safe entry. They have since changed the security team and set up a customer care desk. However, the fact remains clear; these guards acted according to instructions. Therefore, transferring them might not solve the problem.

NMS has also resolved its wrangles with the nurses. They have therefore called off the go-slow. All services have resumed in all hospitals, according to this report. They have also promised to augment security in four other hospitals to prevent repetition of such occurrence.
