Tanzanian President Dr John Magufuli has revealed why Tanzania is Covid-19 Free. In a speech delivered to a church during a service, Magufuli has shared why he is convinced that Tanzania is Corona-free while almost all the big countries are still battling with this pandemic.

We have every reason to thank God for enabling us to defeat this pandemic which big countries that are more advanced in Science and Technology are still battling. This is a lesson to humanity that when faced with such challenges, we should not depend on our knowledge alone- Dr Magufuli

We Depended on God to beat Covid-19 Magufuli

Magufuli has accorded Tanzania’s said victory over Covid-19 to God’s grace. He quoted the Bible on Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the lord always and lean not in your own understanding. This, he says, has been his main strategy in an effort to defeat Corona Virus. Magufuli has been seen taking minimalist steps in the fight against this pandemic, and has since declared Tanzania free of Covid-19.The video is available here. This leaves so many questions unanswered in regard to correctness of his statement.

Tell Other nations to emulate us

President Magufuli went ahead to urge all the other nations to follow the example laid out by Tanzania. He urged them to be fearless in practice of faith, considering that Tanzania never shut down worship places while other countries did. Tanzanian government allowed major activities that the WHO considered dangerous to run as usual. The government banned daily update of covid cases. This implies that there is no record of cases, or the behaviour of this disease in Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Kenya which neighbors Tanzania continues to record new cases daily, though the numbers seem to be receding. Kenya has since allowed reopening of worship places. However, a 9pm curfew remains, together with serveral other restrictions. This raises eyebrows. Why is Kenya, which took more restrictions, having more cases than Tanzania. Well, we leave that to you to decide.

Congratulations, you did not wear masks

President Magufuli went on to congratulate foreigners who were in present for not wearing masks. This, he said, was a show of their faith that indeed Tanzania was Covid-free. Public gatherings in Tanzania are totally allowed and WHO regulations are not seriously adhered to. Is Tanzania Covid free? Well, all indicators say so. Locals have taken to social media to share how life is going on as normal. Although updates were banned in Tanzania, there is every reason to believe that Tanzania might be Covid-free.

If there is a country that has experienced the least disturbance during this period, that is Tanzania. Nearly all activities went on uninterrupted. His famous quote Hapa kazi tu which loosely translates to ‘all we do is work’ has been evident. It is safe to say that  Tanzania might have defeated Covid-19 by applying less of Science and more of Spirituality. Since this cannot be scientifically proven, we’ll leave it to you to decide.
