Her nomination

It is always a good thing to support young talents especially here in Kenya. It motivates the other youths not to give up. Apparently, a Kenyans young comedienne, Elsa Majimbo has been nominated in the 2020 America’s E! People’s Choice Award. This is probably the best thing that she could wish for. This is an award that acknowledges people in the entertainment industry. She broke the amazing news on her social media pages. She is even the youngest nominee in her category.

Where it began

Elsa Majimbo gained more popularity during the pandemic. This was back in March when she posted a very funny video on the restriction meant for the pandemic. The video went as far as South African hence landing her the nickname ‘Mpho’ meaning ‘gift’ in the Tswana language. She has been nominated in the category of African Social star. In this category, she will be competing with South African singer Sho madjozi, Lydia Forson, Dimmah Umeh, Zozi Tunzi, Thuso Mbedu, Wian, and Karl Kugelmann.

She took to her Instagram to thank everyone for supporting her. She has over 734 thousand followers on her Instagram. The 19-year old girl went on and asked people to vote for her so that she can bring the award back home. “I am so excited and shocked to announce that I have been nominated E! People’s Choice Award in the category of African Social star. While I don’t know how I got here so quickly, what I do know is I wouldn’t have gotten here without all your support. So please continue to show me your support by voting for me with up to 25 votes a day” she wrote. Many Kenyans took to social media to congratulate her. She must be the happiest person because her nomination came a few months after an agreement with Rihanna’s brand Fenty. All the best in her endeavors.
