A man whose professional foundation stands on the strictesf tenets of science. Prof George Magoha is fast moving away from the bedrock of existence. He has over the past months steered the country towards confusion. He is quickly cutting the image of an uncompromising general who get counsel from four people only. The four people are George, Albert, Omore and Magoha. This stubbornness may cut it for a suicidal army unit, guiding a country’s education through such a crisis. It requires a little bit more guile and less combative temperent.
The first two minutes were filled with a conversation from the prof and the president. When did things go south for the professor. Who had painstakingly cut an image of a no-nonsense decision maker.
The July address was peppered with hallowed reference to the president. The CS told the country there would be no school this year. But were Magoha to keep it scientific a few things would stand out in thia July decision. At that time the july was still out on whether the children would be super-spreaders when the virys first broke out.
The September 14th address was crucial. In a couple of weeks Magoha and his team were supposed to give a proposal. The proposal was to be given to the president on whether to opem schools. It was as a result of month of back and forth. It was between the technocrats at the Ministry of Education.
The findings were to be the highlight of the President address to the Nation. But the good CS was shocked. The proposal his team presented was not clear. Gaps existed were none ought to have existed. The recommendations lacked scientific backing for them to sail through. For instance, a stakeholders forum had proposed new classroom blocks. This was to be the government expenditure.
