Kenya football fans on Friday October 16, started there day with somber moods as they received sad news of hospitalization of former national team coach Jacob Ghost Mulee after being involved in a bad road accident.
Ghost Mulee who co-hosts the morning show with his colleague Gidi Gidi at Radio Jambo, was rushed to the Aga Khan hospital on Friday morning, October 16, after the accident which happened along Waiyaki Way.
His colleague at Radio Africa who also hosts morning show at brother radio Kiss FM presenter Felix Odiwuor popularly as Jalang’o broke the news during a morning show on the station.
He stated that the renowned presenter wanted to make the turn into Brookside drive when a public service vehicle rammed his car.
“There were so many people at the scene but I managed to take Ghost to the hospital where he has been admitted and that is why I was late to work,” Jalang’o stated.
Road accidents have been on the rise in the last couple of weeks with Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai indicating that some drivers were flaunting basic safety requirements.
“The National Police Service will undertake nationwide enforcement operations to address factors such as speeding, lane indiscipline, assessment of general compliance with public service vehicle (PSV) licensing requirement, a crackdown on unroadworthy vehicles among other traffic offences,” he wrote in a statement.
He stated that the measures would enhance efforts towards road safety in order to prevent the unnecessary loss of lives.

According to a report released by NTSA, 2,689 persons had lost their lives between January 1 and September 30, 2020, compared to the same period last year where 2,655 lives were lost which translates to an increase of 1.3%.
During the same period, motorcyclists and pillion passengers deaths increased by 44.94% and 19.44% respectively.
Ghost Mulee is considered a champion in Kenyan football, having nurtured talents of many Kenyan football stars like Denis Oliech, Michael Olunga among others.
He is also rembered for taking Harambee Stars to Africa Cup of Nations in 2004 and winning a number of CECAFA trophies for his nation. He also coached Tusker FC.
Mulee also commentated Kenyan Premier League matches with Super Sport. He is a name to reckoned always in Kenyan football and we wish him a quick recovery.
