DP Ruto has excused police officers for previously cancelling his meeting in Nyamira County. Ruto defended them, claiming that the police are hustlers, simply following orders from their bosses. These bosses, he said, had no clue of what happens to hustlers on the ground.
These policemen have no problem. They understand the challenges of ordinary people. The problem is the people who live in the ivory tower who don’t understand the challenges of ordinary people ~Ruto.
Last week Nyamira County Commissioner cancelled Ruto’s Nyamira tour, declaring it unlawful. Later, police officers landed the meeting ground and dispersed the public which had already arrived. The used teargas to disperse the public that was waiting for DP Ruto and his allies.
However, on Wednesday this week, Nyamira County Police Commander Catherine Mugwe allowed them to proceed with the two events. Ruto and his allies consequently spent their day in Nyamira County today.

He continues to lay blame to the government through interior security for attempting to frustrate his ambitions of ’empowering’ the hustler nation. Previously, Ruto has received sufficient criticism from his political foes who he refers to as dynasties.
Ruto continued to state that Kenya belongs to everyone and nobody should be denied a chance to express his voice. His team has previously experienced cancellation of events and ugly confrontations with the police force.
Ruto has urged the youth to stay away from violence and not allow politicians to incite them against each other. He added that those fighting him shall soon be proven wrong.
Nyamira County is the birthplace of Interior Security CS Fred Matiang’i, who has recently opposed DP Hustler ambitions.
