The main way to boost your blood level is through a good diet. Imagine volunteering to donate blood then sadly being told that you have insufficientblood? This can really be embarrassing. Eating food rich in Iron increases hemoglobin levels .This in turn leads to increased formation of red blood cells which aid in the transportation of blood across the body. It is necessary to maintain normal levels of hemoglobin in your blood for your body to function properly. Having low levels of hemoglobin can lead to dizziness, headache, fatigues and shortness of breath.

Low blood levels is mostly experienced by pregnant women, girls during menstruation stage, growing children if not fed well and patients recovering from an illness. One can improve blood levels through the following ways:
Eating iron –rich food like – green vegetables like spinach, broccoli and other traditional vegetables.
-taking red meat like beef.
-Animal liver and kidney can improve it a lot.
-large intake of legumes in this case mostly beans.
-The yolk of an egg.
Maximizing absorption of iron. Iron absorption can be improved by taking food rich in vitamin C. They include straw berries, beetroot, oranges and leafy green vegetables. Also food rich in vitamin A like fish, liver and kales help in iron absorption. But too much intake of vitamin A can lead to bone and joint pain.

 

Taking iron supplements. This is only advisable if the hemoglobin level is quit too low. This will also depend on person’s level. Supplements will increase iron level gradually over days to months up to the expected level.
Avoid intake of iron blockers which block body’s ability to absorb iron. They include beer, tea and coffee.
• Consider eating an apple. As the saying goes” an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. It will help in maintaining normal hemoglobin level as it is rich in iron too.

Most importantly, try using natural ways of boosting blood levels.
