Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has concluded the week-long NG-CDF Westlands bursary issuance exercise with the final disbursement of cheques to beneficiaries in Karura Ward at Hospital Hill High School.

In Karura Ward alone, a total of 1,400 beneficiaries received bursary support: 1,000 secondary school students (KES 5,000 each) and 400 tertiary students (KES 10,000 each) translating to over KES 9 million allocated to the ward.
Across the entire constituency, the bursary program has supported 7,000 beneficiaries, funded under a KES 56 million allocation for bursaries and scholarships, including support for needy students and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Wanyonyi emphasized that the funds were distributed fairly across all wards.
“We have given these cheques equally in every ward with 1,000 secondary and 400 tertiary beneficiaries per ward. Take your cheque to school immediately and return the receipt to the NG-CDF office,” he urged.
Beyond the bursary program, the MP also addressed the current state of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party following the demise of Raila Odinga.
“Since the demise of Baba, ODM has not been stable. We now have two factions — ODM Oburu (broad-based) and ODM Sifuna. I remain in the original ODM and not in factions I do not understand,” he said.
He warned that the divisions could have political consequences.
“As things stand, ODM risks losing Nairobi. There are people investing heavily in both factions to weaken the party,” he added.
The legislator reiterated his intention to pursue a new political path after completing his current term.
“I said once I complete my term, I will move forward. In 2022, I was in Nairobi, but I was duped,” he stated.

Wanyonyi also challenged those seeking his Westlands seat to engage directly with voters.
“Those eying my seat should come down from billboards and meet the people on the ground,” he said.
He concluded by asking residents for their support and prayers as he eyes a new political journey.
“I ask for your prayers so that my journey in Bungoma is successful.”
The NG-CDF bursary program remains a key pillar in Westlands, continuing to ease the burden of school fees for families while expanding access to education across the constituency.
