Magoha to Give New School Reopening Directives on or Before 25th September this Month

Magoha hints that learning instituitions may reopen according to his latest remarks.After the closure of schools for several months since the first case of Covid-19 was confirmed in the country, reports indicate that the learning institutions may be reopened soon.

School Reopening To Be Known By September 25th

However, it is expected that Primary and secondary school candidates are likely to return to school in October.This is according to the proposals made by stakeholders meeting that was chaired by Education CS George Magoha.

It has also stated that the candidates will report for the second term and sit for their National Examinations from April 2020.

The candidates will begin their third term from January to March as they prepare for the final examinations.

As per the standard’s report, if the proposal is adopted, over 750,150 KCPE candidates will seat for their KCPE between April 1 and  April 4.

The Education Response Committee is to look into the proposal by Saturday.

Stakeholders will review the proposals on Saturday and the plan will be tabled to the National Covid-19 Committee for the next course of action.

The new developments come seems to put a smile to thousands of learner’s across the country who had yearned for school reopening.

Moreover,over 1.2 million KCSE candidates will seat for their exams between April 6 and 30th.

According to the reports, the rest of the learner’s will most likely report in January for a new academic year.

Magoha also mentioned something concerning BOM teachers.

The teachers employed on board of 9 (BOM Teachers) basis are the one that has felt the impact of the pandemic more. They have gone for about six months without salary.

However, the wait for salary payments is finally over after a long wait. The government has made serious its promise to pay BOM teachers after school principals confirmed that the government has finally credited the funds.
