Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Kenya Police officers based in Tharaka Nithi County on Tuesday morning some minutes past midnight arrested a Chief Inspector Police who is suspected to have been sodomizing four boys ages between 14-15 years and two young adults of 18 & 19 years.
John Marete the Chief Inspector Police incharge of Ntumu police station within Chogoria town,is said to have been sodomizing the young adults for an unspecified period, upon expeditious interrogations of the six victims.
According to a DCI report,Maara sub county head of Criminal Investigations said that the boys were found sleeping on the floor in the perpetrators house, within Chogoria Township and was shocked finding out that who is supposed to safeguard the rights of such victims, is a law enforcement officer.
“Shockingly ,the perpetrator of this beastly crime is a Chief Inspector of Police, in-charge of a Police Post within Chogoria,who is supposed to safeguard the rights of such victims as a law enforcement officer.”
The police statement read.
“The suspect has since been placed in custody pending further investigations.”

The officers were acting on a tip off from members of the public.
