What happens when you eat too many carrots

Eating too many carrots can cause more harm than good. It is always advisable to take only enough amount, not excess.‏ Carrots are very nutritious and are mostly used in making stew, salads and can also be eaten when raw. Carrots have a lot of benefits to our bodies too. They contain an important nutrient called beta-carotene which later converts to vitamin A in the body. Carrots also contain fiber, which improves stomach and intestine conditions like constipation.

Some side effects include:

Too many carrots can cause skin discoloration. This means too much intake of beta-carotene which leads to carotenemia. This, in turn, marks the skin to turn orange.

Is not safe for infants as they can choke them.it is advisable to ensure you give them small portions.
Hinders absorption of nutrients and lacks essential nutrients. Too much intake of carrots interferes with iron, zinc, magnesium, and calcium absorption. On the other hand, carrots lack fat and proteins which are very essential in the body.
May cause allergies-though carrot alone is cannot because allergy, it may cause reactions when consumed. Some of the carrot allergies include; irritation of the eyes, itching, or swelling of the lip.
Changes the flavor of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers. For this reason, one should eat less quantity.
Has high sugar content hence not advisable for people suffering from diabetes.
• Too many carrots can cause Vitamin A toxicity. Vitamin A is fat-soluble thus so much of it ted to be stored in the liver or fat tissue. This eventually leads to toxicity.

Besides that, carrots help in the improvement of vision. They are also important in the improvement of immunity and healing because of its vitamin C content. Carrots have vitamin K that helps in bone strengthening. Generally,carrots are super-healthy for our bodies. Just ensure you don’t take them on daily for better results.
