- Permitted Religious gatherings shall have a capacity of 33% their normal capacity.
- The curfew is extended for 60 more days
- Learning institutions shall remain closed until further notice
- The CS for Education has been instructed to issue a calendar for resumption of school learning.
- Weddings and funeral shall have a maximum of 200 people
- Those earning salaries below 24,000 shall have 100% tax relief until 31st December 2020
- The VAT shall remain at 14% until 1st July 2021
Bar owners Smile
These new regulations have left bar owners happy. The President had previously banned sale of alcohol in bars and only allowed the sale of take-away. This led to huge losses and outcry of the bars owners. Consequently, this situation is expected to change moving forward. However, the few operating hours will still caused them to earn less.
Entertainers are also crawling slowly back to the business. With at least a few hours of clubs opened, they can now make a dime. DJ’s and musicians are among those that shall benefit the most from this reopening

Meanwhile, learners shall have to wait further for learning institutions to reopen. Many Kenyans expected the President to announce an official school reopening date. However, he instructed the CS for Education to instead release a calendar. This means that students shall have to keep holding on.
Kenyans shall continue to enjoy low tax rates for the rest of the year. Income earners whose salaries are 24,000 and below are also going to enjoy the rest of the year receiving untaxed salaries. The government is doing this to ensure that low income earners have the least disturbance.
