The Deputy President of Kenya, Dr. William Ruto did not attend the Covid-19 Conference on 28th Sept. As Kenyans continue to raise questions, there are a few dots to join. Some of Ruto’s supporters have come up to defend him for not attending the conference. Oscar Sudi took to his twitter account to express his opinion
If @WilliamsRuto had betrayed the spirit of Hustler Nation by attending #CovidMillionaires Conference, I would have grabbed the mantle and vie for Presidency come 2022. Hatutaki ukumbafu. ~ Oscar Sudi
Sudi, who is a close ally with the DP argued that the Deputy President indeed refused to show up. He also claimed that Ruto attending the conference would betray their course. In addition, Sudi branded the coference as covid-19 millionaires party, meaning that the attendees had benefitted from Covid-19 saga involving KEMSA. Therefore, he says, if Ruto did attend, Sudi would have denounced him and vied for presidency come 2022.

The circumstances under which the DP failed to show up are still unclear. A photo circulating online shows that indeed the organizers had set up a place for him. However, it is still unclear if whether he did receive an invitation. The DP has not given any official communication yet.
