DP Ruto has postponed his much anticipated visit to Nyamira County. This comes after the area county commissioner declared his visit illegal and dispatched anti-riot police to clear the public. In his statement in his official twitter account, the DP said that he consulted with the area MP and clergy.
However, Ruto has condemned the government for using the police to disrupt his event. He claims h he aimed to empower the bodaboda Sacco by attending to that fundraiser.
After consultations with MPs Kemosi, Mose,Nyamoko, the bodaboda sacco and church leadership who had invited us, we have postponed the two functions in Nyamira County to Thursday next week.The disruptive dispersal by police of kenyans engaged in economic empowerment is unnecessary~DP Ruto on twitter.
The police earlier stormed into the grounds that Ruto was supposed to visit and used teargas to disperse all the locals who had showed up. A few locals rowdy youth engaged them in stone pelting.
On the other hand, ODM leader Raila Odinga had his ODM delegates Meeting proceeded uninterrupted in in Kitengela. He dismissed Ruto’s idea of giving young Kenyans wheelbarrows.
