Ruto’s Woes and Foes: New Tough Measures

The Deputy President and his Hustler crusade have continued to experience more trouble as the Government enacted more stringent measures. After the chaotic events in Murang’a on Sunday, The  National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) raised the bars. These measures may be a move that is likely to cripple DP ambitions.

The NSAC, led by Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua, called for all politicians to comply with the Public Order Act during public meetings. This includes a series of stringent measures that politicians should take when holding political rallies.

Kinyua has instructed the Police to enforce these  without fear or favor. According to these measure, any politician who wishes to hold any political gathering will have to request an OCS for permission to proceed. They shall do this in a period of between 3 and 14 days of the D-day. The OCS may actually deny him a go-ahead.

In this regard, NSAC hereby directs relevant security organs to enforce these directives without fear or favour to the offenders, regardless of their economic standing, ethnicity, religion and political association and status~ Joseph Kinyua

In addition, politicians shall restrict their movements to only specified locations and they shall adhere to other tough guidelines, even in the content they deliver to the public. They shall have to avoid inciting the general public and maintain a high sense of civic duty and responsibility.

Similarly, Kinyua has cautioned media groups from publishing any news that may be inciting to the general public. Social media users shall also be held responsible on what they post on they platforms.

However, DP Ruto has still pressed on with his nationwide tours. Today, DP shall be touring Nyamira, according to his strategist, Dennis Itumbi.
